Our Love Story began 13 years ago in the Summer of 2011 while we both were doing something we love, playing basketball. Zafar grew up and spent almost all of his evenings and nights playing basketball at Petit park. Then one random Summer night, one of the most amazing and most beautiful girls went to play pickup with the boys. From this point on, Zafar did everything he could to impress Kerrissa, both on and off the court. It took him 2 weeks to learn that her name was not “Risso”, but that did not deter him from pursuing this amazing girl, that was also really good at basketball.

From the moment we exchanged phone numbers and Twitter handles, we did not stop talking and would hangout at the park or different parties throughout the Summer. Zafar had recently been admitted to the University of California San Diego, so we both understood it would just be a Summer fling until Zafar moved away for school. But our Summer fling, was far from just being a Summer fling, our Love Story was just getting started. The last days before Zafar left to school, we both had to dig deep and ask, “is this gonna be forever or is it gonna go down in flames?"

We found ways to hold on to that spark and connection. We continued to talk daily, and each would make the grueling, long, treacherous 2 hour drive on the 405 from San Diego to LA or LA to San Diego. Little did we know this was only the start to our many adventures to come! We then became smart and became Disneyland Annual Pass holders and used that as our midway meetup point. (which is why Disneyland is still such a special place in our hearts) All these many years, we both still have that spark and connection and are so madly crazy in love with each other. We are the best of friends and the best of soulmates!

On November 26th, 2023 Zafar FINALLY knelt to the ground and pulled out a ring and asked if we can keep this going forever... 13 weeks to the day we found our venue, and on the 13th of July we can not wait for you all to witness the beginning of our forever!
